Business Overview:
NHB was established under the Act of Parliament viz, NHB Act in 1988 to operate as a principal agency to promote housing finance institutions both at local and regional levels and to provide financial and other support to such institutions. NHB is wholly owned by the RBI. NHB endeavors to continue to support a healthy housing finance sector in the country and realize their goal of affordable housing for all. Main functions are classified as: Regulatory and Supervision, Financing, Promotion and Development.
